The Pop-Up Play Shop is set up to offer a free play service to children and families who come into Cardiff City Centre. Here you can do loads of stuff with any of the stuff in the Shop - look at what these two lads got up to while they were in the shop last week:
How can you not like this? Look how happy they are!
Not only that, this shop has been vacant for 6 years before we moved in - surely it's a good thing that we're using it? Especially because the shop's in the wonderful environment of Queens Arcade! The Council have the power to give 100% exemption from Council Tax for non-profit organisations, but they don't seem to want to give it to us, so we're taking action!
We have set up a petition where we hope to collect 1000 signatures to match the 1000 visitors who have visited the Shop. It' It only takes a couple of minutes to sign up, and you can do it the lazy way too by clicking the Facebook icon. Please take the time to show your support for the Pop-Up Play Shop. You know it's very dear to my heart, and I would hate to see such an awesome project end in such a way.
More details can be found in the Pop-Up Play Shop blog. I might have to make a nice obvious button about the petition... hold on...
(Don't forget to click confirm your signature on the verification email that it sends you!)
Please support in any way you can. Facebook, twitter, blogs, calling up the people in question (see Shop blog), petition, donations. ANYTHING is awesome. And we thank you from the bottom of our endless bucket of playful junk. :) THANK YOU! :)
